Chicago Bulls: 3 best PF free agents with Paul Millsap gone
It was a tough week for the Chicago Bulls‘ front office in trying to fill the looming need at the four ahead of the start of Training Camp and the preseason. Executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley managed to miss on both veteran power forwards Paul Millsap and LaMarcus Aldridge at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets.
Millsap was the first of these two wily veteran power forwards that signed with the Nets this week. He chose to sign with the Nets after a rather lengthy stint in free agency this offseason over the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Bulls, etc.
And the Nets also managed to re-up the contract of the former Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs star Aldridge, who is making his return to the NBA after an early retirement due to health issues. Aldridge did play in five games for the Nets last season prior to the early retirement.
Chicago Bulls must make it a priority to act fast to fill a need at PF after Paul Millsap signs with the Nets
It does hurt the Bulls that neither Millsap nor Aldridge signed with the team this summer. Either one of those two veteran power forwards would’ve helped to immediately solve the team’s woes on the bench at the four. Between the two of them, Aldridge and Millsap bring a whopping 11 All-Star selections to the table for the Nets.
Nonetheless, Karnisvoas and the Bulls have to look forward to finding the right solution for help at the four. Head coach Billy Donovan will essentially have the personnel needed to round out the rotation heading into next season once the Bulls find more help at the four.
Here’s a look into three of the best remaining power forwards in free agency for the Bulls after Millsap and Aldridge signed with the Nets this week.
