Sometimes it’s hard to believe what some people auction off, especially when it takes into account a celebrity the level of the Chicago Bulls all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan. Some of the items that are being auctioned off this month that were worn by Jordan are pretty outrageous (in a very weird way).

On the auction site Lelands, multiple worn/used Jordan items are being sold. That includes a pair of worn Jordan underwear. A lot of these auctions are starting off at $500, and are running close to the end of the month.

The worn Jordan underwear is already bidding above $1,000 as of the early afternoon of Sep. 3. It is actually one of the highest-priced Jordan items on this auction site among just over a dozen listings at this point in time.

A few of the other Jordan items up for auction include worn suit jackets, overcoats, shirts, and ties. Even golf clubs are up for auction among this group of listings of Jordan memorabilia/worn apparel.

Most of the time when people think about Jordan memorabilia auctions, it would entail trading cards, game worn jerseys/shoes, signed basketballs, etc. This is a group of auction listings of a much different nature.

Around half of these Jordan items half a bid at the moment. And of all the items that have bids at the moment, nothing is even up to half the price of the worn Jordan underwear.

Moreover, this really shows that fans will go to no end to get close to their favorite celebrities. Jordan is also of a certain level of fame where this can get taken to an unusual degree of fandom.

It’s hard to find anyone else in professional sports that saw an explosion in their memorabilia market to the same degree as Jordan since the premier of “The Last Dance” in spring 2020. Trading cards, shoes, memorabilia, etc. of Jordan’s are going for insane prices in the past 18-20 months, as if that merchandise wasn’t already prior to the pandemic.
