Chicago Bulls: 3 realistic free agents to fill out the roster
At this point, it’s anyone’s best guess how the Chicago Bulls‘ front office will choose to fill the remaining roster spots ahead of the start of Training Camp and the preseason. There’s always the chance that executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley elect to keep the likes of former Oregon State Beavers combo guard Ethan Thompson, ex-Dallas Mavericks rookie wing Tyler Bey, etc. on the roster from the Summer League squad.
Nonetheless, the Bulls do still have a trio of key roster spots to fill out with a little more than one month remaining until the start of Training Camp. The Bulls do get up and running in Training Camp on Sep. 28. And then the preseason slate tips off on Oct. 5 at home at the United Center against the divisional foe Cleveland Cavaliers.
Chicago Bulls still have a plethora of roster spots to fill
With roughly five weeks remaining until the start of Training Camp, and six until the start of the preseason, time is winding down for the Bulls to start piecing together the rest of this rotation. Head coach Billy Donovan is still likely looking at a few holes in his bench that would be good to fill before Training Camp begins.
There’s the chance that the Bulls are able to get fourth-year power forward Lauri Markkanen back for just next season on a qualifying offer. But we shouldn’t count on that as a certainty.
What previous trends from Karnisovas and Eversley lead to particular names that stick out that are still available in this cycle of free agency? Here’s a look at three realistic remaining free agents that the Bulls could use to fill out the roster heading into next season.
