Options for Chicago Bulls to fill remaining roster spots
Maxi Kleber
If any deal worked out where the Bulls got the 29-year-old German 6-foot-10 and 240-pound big man Maxi Kleber from the Mavs in a sign-and-trade for Markkanen, that would be good for this frontcourt unit. While that would eliminate the possibility of bringing back Markkanen for next season, it would definitely give more stability in this rotation.
Kleber could be an ultra-reliable veteran power forward that could fill a bench role about as consistently as any other possibility for the Bulls at this point of the offseason (maybe outside of Millsap). This would be a great option for the Bulls if the Kleber sign-and-trade is still on the table.
JJ Redick
There’s a number of former Mavs players on this list. Part of that is due to the idea that the Bulls could still have a sign-and-trade deal possible with the Mavs to get Keber. And the other part is due to how much of an immediate impact the Bulls could get out of the former Duke Blue Devils star guard and sharpshooting veteran JJ Redick.
Redick and Millsap are two of the very best free agents still available at this point of the offseason. Markkanen is definitely another one to include on the list of best remaining free agents.
Yet, Redick would definitely provide the Bulls the last piece needed to shore up any shooting needs in the backcourt unit. He would provide more stability for the Bulls in the backcourt off the bench compared to the fluctuating production that Coby White can give the team at times.
