Options for Chicago Bulls to fill remaining roster spots

Patrick Patterson

This is one of the main options brought up for the Bulls to bring in a proven veteran at the four this offseason. You can’t go down the list of available and viable options for the Bulls to fill this need at the four without bringing up the former Los Angeles Clippers’ veteran forward Patrick Patterson.

Patterson gave some good minutes to the Clippers in the regular season and the playoffs last season. He would be a nice fit that could knock down shots from the outside, rebound effectively, and defend at a decent level, in about 15-20 minutes on the floor per night. And he could do that coming off the bench at a bargain bin price tag.

Paul Millsap

This would still be my far and away favorite for the Bulls to go out and get help at the four heading into next season. The more days that go by and the former Denver Nuggets veteran big man Paul Millsap is still available, the harder it gets to believe. Millsap went into this cycle of free agency as one of the most qualified immediate impact veterans at the four.

And you would have to figure that the more days that go by, the cheaper the asking price will be for Millsap. This could be a really nice fit to help round out the rotation for head coach Billy Donovan and the Bulls heading into next season.

The four-time All-Star and 36-year-old Millsap isn’t the same player that he once was during his days with the Atlanta Hawks. But he can still contribute at a pretty high level in about 20-25 minutes off the bench per night.
