Chicago Bulls players that’re problematic scheme fits for Billy Donovan: Tony Bradley

The one Bulls player on this list that comes with an asterisk situationally is the former Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers center Tony Bradley. As one of the newest additions for the Bulls, there could be some time that it will take for Donovan to get a spot nailed down in the rotation for Bradley.

Yet, the main reason why Bradley should come with an asterisk on this list is that he could be a much more natural fit if the Bulls get Donovan some help at the four. If the Bulls do end up losing fourth-year power forward Lauri Markkanen to the restricted free agent market, or via a sign-and-trade deal, this offseason then there will be a gaping hole at the four.

Thus, Donovan might be forced to split time for multiple players that aren’t natural fits at the four at this position behind whoever gets the start here. Bradley would either be playing at the five off the bench with someone like Marko Simonovic, who isn’t a natural fit at the four, or he’d be at power forward himself.

If the Bulls do add a backup power forward to play behind likely second-year forward Patrick Williams, then this really eases the burden for Donovan to make this a smooth transition for Bradley in Chicago. Avoid addressing the need at the four ahead of the start of next season, and Bradley might not have the easiest time out of the gates with the Bulls.
