This offseason for the Chicago Bulls turned into one of the busiest in recent memory for this franchise. There’s a lot of excitement injected into the fan base following a busy stint in the first week of free agency for the Bulls. But there are some players that will be suiting up for different teams next season that Bulls fans are going to miss.

The main cause to some of the key departures for the Bulls this summer were the sign-and-trade deals that brought the two biggest additions to Chicago. The Bulls did give up a lot in those sign-and-trade deals with the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans to get Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan.

Whether those deals pan out well for the Bulls will be determined in about the next 12-24 months. If the Bulls make a good postseason run in 2022 and get star shooting guard Zach LaVine signed down to a fair contract next offseason, then all of these moves should be considered a success.

On the other hand, if the Bulls are left with bloated contracts with DeRozan and star center Nikola Vucevic two or three years down the road, and there’s no good postseason run to speak of, then these moves will be a failure. But it’s too early to say how these moves will ultimately play out for the Bulls.

Nonetheless, this is a good time to reflect on what the Bulls will be losing heading into next season. Here’s a look at four departing players that Bulls fans should be sad to see go this summer.
