A lot of news has dropped about the run for the Chicago Bulls Summer League team next month in an otherwise busy week of headlines for this team. A couple of the players that could line the Summer League roster for the Bulls were dropped this week. Namely, it was the schedule that the Bulls have ahead for a four-game slate in Summer League that was notable.

The Bulls will begin the Summer League slate this offseason on Aug. 9 against the New Orleans Pelicans. That meeting with the Pelicans will be the lone game that the Bulls have in Summer League that will be televised on ESPN. That game will be on ESPN2 on Aug. 9, with tip-off time set for 2 p.m. CT.

The outing against the Pelicans is the first of four meeting against Western Conference foes. Next up after that Summer League game is a meeting with the San Antonio Spurs on Aug. 10. The Bulls get going quick with two Summer League games in two days next month.

And then, the Bulls will have a rather intriguing matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Aug. 12. That meeting with the Timberwolves could feature a matchup with multiple top lottery picks from the past two years. If second-year shooting guard Anthony Edwards participates in Summer League this year, he could be one of two top three picks at a minimum that the Timberwolves have on the roster.

Chicago Bulls have four Western Conference foes announced for Summer League

To round it all out, the Bulls have a meeting with the Memphis Grizzlies to round out the announced games thus far. The Bulls will face the Grizzlies on Aug. 15, with tip-off time set for 9 p.m. CT. That will be one of the three games announced for the Bulls set to be broadcasted on NBA TV.

Moreover, the Bulls are set to have at least five games in the Las Vegas Summer League. The fifth game will be a playoff matchup for the Bulls. And each playoff win keeps the run going for the Bulls in the Las Vegas Summer League through the championship (if the team makes it that far).

As far as the players announced for the Bulls thus far, it is expected that the roster will include a trio of big man Simi Shittu, forward Patrick Williams, and point guard Devon Dotson. There’s a chance that the Bulls could also have the 2020 second-round draft pick and KK Mega Bemax big man Marko Simonovic included on the Summer League roster.

This will also be the first run for this current front office and coaching staff with the Bulls in Summer League. There was no Summer League played in Las Vegas or Salt Lake City last year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
