Bulls Rumors: 3 players Chicago is interested in to avoid this summer
Players in Bulls rumors to avoid this summer: DeMar DeRozan
One player that still has some borderline All-Star caliber years left, but doesn’t look to be a great fit with the Bulls, that keeps getting tied to this team is the San Antonio Spurs veteran shooting guard/forward DeMar DeRozan. The increasingly versatile (positionally at least) DeRozan is a four-time All-Star selection that still produced at a high level for legendary head coach Gregg Popovich the past few seasons in San Antonio.
It looks like the time has come where the Spurs are officially doing away with the previous star duo of power forward LaMarcus Aldridge and DeRozan. Granted, Aldridge called it quits from the NBA as a whole last season.
Meanwhile, DeRozan could be drawing some big suitors that he would be a better fit with other than the Bulls this summer. Landing with a team that could compete for a title right away like the Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, or Phoenix Suns could make more sense for DeRozan compared to signing with someone like the Bulls.
Last season was a time to recognize the consistency that DeRozan brought to the table in the past few years, even after his time with the Toronto Raptors was behind him. Playing the majority of his minutes at the four for the first time in his career to date, DeRozan still averaged roughly 22 points per game, four rebounds, and seven assists.
