Chicago Bulls trade targets to watch on draft night: Dejounte Murray
Definitely one of the more underrated potential trade targets that the Bulls could have to fill their need at the point guard position this summer is the former Washington Huskies and current San Antonio Spurs floor general Dejounte Murray. The 29th overall pick of the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft for the Spurs would be a solid find for the Bulls.
The question of the Bulls being able to get Murray from the Spurs would hinge more on how much the front office in San Antonio is actually willing to part ways with the point guard.
Murray could offer the Bulls a real boost on the defensive end of the floor, just like they would get out of the New Orleans Pelicans impending restricted free agent point guard Lonzo Ball. But Murray would likely come at a cheaper cost salary-wise than Lonzo.
In the season that was, Murray also put up a very respectable stat line of 17.1 points per game, 7.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.5 steals. The question would be for the Bulls is it worth going out to get someone that might have a higher ceiling, can shoot the ball more efficiently from deep, and could be more of a true primary ball-handler over the long-term.
Murray would be more of a true point guard fit for the Bulls than White or combo guard Tomas Satoransky. But just like with Sexton, Murray has played some of his minutes at the two-guard, and could be a fit there too over the long haul.
