Stars that benefit most from playing with Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine: Ben Simmons
A potential option that looked to emerge last month for Karnisovas and the Bulls to fill their looming point guard need this offseason lied with the Philadelphia 76ers and star floor general Ben Simmons. The 6-foot-11 and 240-pound two-way 24-year-old point guard Simmons didn’t have the best cap with the Sixers to the 2020-21 campaign.
Simmons was one of the most hotly discussed trade targets around the NBA landscape last month, following the Sixers’ early exit in the second round of the playoffs at the hands of star point guard Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks. But no concrete trade rumors have emerged yet concerning the Sixers’ front office and Simmons.
Yet, the three-time All-Star selection and two-time All-Defensive Team selection Simmons could still offer a lot of value to the Bulls if he were to be made available on the trade block in the near future. He would seemingly be a great fit next to the likes of LaVine and Vooch given how he could make up for some defensive lapses and truly be the primary ball-handler for the offense.
The downside of trading for Simmons would largely be two-fold. The first problem would be how much the Bulls would have to give up to the Sixers to actually pull off a trade to acquire Simmons. and the second is the lack of outside shooting along with health concerns for the towering point guard. But each of those issues, while valid, would likely be settled with the Bulls if a trade could be in the works to get Simmons to Chicago.
