The idea of the Chicago Bulls‘ front office trying to form a big three this offseason to make a contender out of this team heading into next season sounds very appealing. But actually making that happen would be an incredibly difficult feat for executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley.
While this cycle of free agency is going to be much more fruitful than the one last fall, a lot of the stars that looked to be on the open market will be no longer. Key stars that looked set to become unrestricted free agents this summer included Milwaukee Bucks back-to-back MVP and forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis, and Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George, among others.
Some key stars could still arise on the open market in unrestricted free agency this summer, though. Those are the names for Karnisovas and Eversley to watch if they do have a goal of trying to build out a big three alongside star shooting guard Zach LaVine and center Nikola Vucevic ahead of next season.
Potential benefit of playing with Chicago Bulls star SG Zach LaVine
Playing with Vooch will sound great to a lot of stars around the NBA, for obvious reasons. He is a two-time All-Star that can help space the floor, rebounds well, and is a versatile fit in a number of different offensive schemes.
But it is LaVine that would be the real drawing point for the Bulls to attract other stars to the Windy City if that is the plan moving forward this offseason. Here’s a look into three stars around the NBA that would benefit most from playing with LaVine and the Bulls.
