During his playing days in the NBA, the Chicago Bulls‘ all-time great shooting guard Michael Jordan had a number of high-profile teammates. But not many of them shared that college connection that he had dating back to his days in the 1980s with the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program and legendary head coach Dean Smith.

When he played at UNC, Jordan was one of the more accomplished players for that program in the past four decades. He played at UNC from 1981-1984. And he won a National Championship with the Tar Heels during his true freshman campaign in 1981-82. He wouldn’t win another National Championship after that in two more seasons in Chapel Hill.

But Jordan still had one of the more storied careers in the past four decades for the Tar Heels. Jordan was a two-time First-Team All-American, three-time ACC All-Tournament Team selection, and won the AP Player of the Year, Wooden Award, Naismith Award, etc. for the 1983-84 season. Following a huge 1983-84 season for Jordan with the Tar Heels, the Bulls selected him fourth overall in the first round of the 1984 NBA Draft.

Which former Tar Heels did the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan play with in the NBA?

Right away, the legendary Jordan was a hit at the NBA level. It is well noted the sweeping impact he had out of the gates not just on the Bulls, but on the entire NBA. His two-way skillset and magical scoring ability were something NBA fans really hadn’t seen before.

Yet, despite the success the Bulls had in drafting Jordan, they didn’t take on that many former Tar Heels to play alongside him during his days in Chicago. There were more former Tar Heels that Jordan played with as a member of the Washington Wizards than with the Bulls.

Nonetheless, here’s a look into the four former Tar Heels that were Jordan teammates in the legendary shooting guard’s NBA career.
