Chicago Bulls point guard targets that are bigger stars than Lonzo Ball: Mike Conley

Among the most underrated and overlooked star point guard targets that could hit free agency this summer is the veteran Utah Jazz floor general Mike Conley. As also one of the most overlooked All-Star selections this season, Conley quietly had one of his most efficient seasons in the NBA to date.

There is always the chance that the Jazz will want to run it back with Conley for at least one more season, given how promising the 2020-21 campaign looked at one point. But the Jazz ultimately sputtered out in the playoffs this year, so change could be on the horizon.

If the Jazz aren’t going to be able to keep star guard Donovan Mitchell around for the long-term, then they might also want to bring back Conley as more of an insurance policy alongside star center Rudy Gobert.

There should still be some big years of production left for Conley in his NBA career. The 6-foot-1 and 175-pound 33-year-old point guard is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer. And if his price tag drops during the offseason, then he could be a solid point guard target for the Bulls.

During the regular season, Conley averaged 16.2 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.2 blocks. And he shot 44.4 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.2 percent from the free-throw line.
