Former Gators for the Chicago Bulls to acquire this summer: Bradley Beal

On the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of who the Bulls could pursue this offseason that could be reunited with his former head coach at Florida is the Washington Wizards star shooting guard Bradley Beal. The three-time All-Star selection and first-time All-NBA Team selection from this season, Beal would have a lot of potential suitors if the Wizards do shop him this summer.

Given that the Wizards signed Beal to a two-year contract extension two offseasons ago. His current contract will take him through the end of the 2022-23 season if he decides to exercise his player option next offseason. That is a pretty good contract by most indications for the Bulls to take on at this point.

The problem in trying to trade for a star like Beal is the cost at which it would come to the Bulls. It would likely also mean that the Bulls have to pass on signing a quality starting point guard this summer. They would either have to move fellow star shooting guard Zach LaVine or Beal to play at the three and maybe like White start at the one moving forward.

Is that worth it for the Bulls to find a true big three to build around, which would include LaVine, Beal, and star center Nikola Vucevic.

Beal is certainly a possibility for the Bulls to kick the tires on. But it would cost the Bulls a lot, and this would be a calculated risk that Karnisovas and Eversley truly feels like puts them in a better spot to contend for at least the next few years.
