NBA Mock Draft 1.0

With Suggs off the board, the Cleveland Cavaliers only have two players to consider taking at third overall. Ultimately, it’s big man Evan Mobley out of USC for the Cavs.

Mobley has arguably the highest upside of any player in the 2021 NBA Draft and just so happens to fit very well with the Cavaliers’ young group of players. With a dynamic backcourt already in place due to the presence of Darius Garland and Collin Sexton, the Cavs make their frontcourt much more dynamic by selecting Mobley.

He joins Jarrett Allen in a frontcourt that is intriguing on both ends of the floor, and that’s without even mentioning the presence of Isaac Okoro at the small forward spot. Mobley averaged a double-double at USC last season (19.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game) in addition to the 3.2 shots he blocked per game.

The Raptors will be happy with any of the top four players that are left for them at pick number four. In this scenario, it is Jalen Green out of the NBA G League that drops to them. Green has high upside and is currently getting a lot of hype in the pre-draft process.

He’s a very good athlete and uses his athleticism well in the open court and when attacking the basket. Green can shoot the ball, as well. That is proven by his 36.5 percent success rate from behind the arc last season with the G-League Ignite.

The Raptors love adding him and expect him to be a featured player offensively for years to come. He fits right into the starting unit in between Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby.
