Chicago Bulls Value Free Agent Target from the Phoenix Suns: Torrey Craig

Similar to Batum, Torrey Craig takes the top spot from the Phoenix Suns roster due to what he provides on the defensive end of the floor. That is his calling and why he is a valued player by teams that are looking to compete.

He provides the type of defense that is always useful to have at your disposal and the Bulls could certainly use someone like that. He also shot 36.8 percent from behind the arc this season, so he can bring additional value as a shooter playing off of both LaVine and Vooch on the offensive end.

At 30 years old, Craig hasn’t truly cashed in on a nice NBA contract yet in his career. If a hefty offer doesn’t come his way this offseason, which is likely how it will play out, the Bulls could try to bring him in on a team-friendly two-year deal.

For Craig, such a deal would give him security and guarantee another year on an NBA contract. For the Bulls, it locks in a player that at the absolute worst is still a good NBA wing defender. That’s a nice thing to have locked up on a roster that has its fair share of defensive issues.

Regardless of how it happens, be it the two-year deal presented or just a one-year deal, the Bulls should be looking into signing Craig once free agency begins. He could certainly play a role similar to the one Garrett Temple played for the team last season and he would likely do it for less money.
