Celtics players the Chicago Bulls could steal away: Moses Brown
The biggest trade to happen so far this offseason obviously did not include the Bulls. It did include the Celtics and the former employer of the Bulls to-be second-year head coach Billy Donovan. This deal saw the Oklahoma City Thunder ship off the big man pairing of veteran standout Al Horford and rising stud Moses Brown to the Celtics for a return of a few draft picks and veteran star point guard Kemba Walker.
A lot of big contracts were on the move with this trade. Just two years removed from his last run with the Celtics, Horford landed back with the Celtics. And it’s hard to know if Sam Presti and the Thunder will turn around and trade Walker’s large max contract yet again this summer.
However, the player of focus on this list is the former Blazers and Thunder under-the-radar big man Brown. The former UCLA Bruin and undrafted free agent signing Brown was a sensation around the NBA landscape for a few weeks during the regular season.
During the 2020-21 season, Brown averaged 8.6 points per game, 8.9 rebounds, 0.2 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.1 blocks. This seems like the exact type of potent project player that Karnisovas would love to take on. He did that with the likes of Bol Bol and Michael Porter Jr. during his time as the Denver Nuggets general manager. And it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him do it again with the Bulls as their lead voice in the front office.
