Most realistic point guards for the Chicago Bulls to sign: Lonzo Ball
Who else would top this list than the New Orleans Pelicans two-way 6-foot-6 and 180-pound 23-year-old point guard Lonzo Ball?
The Pelicans impending restricted free agent is seemingly a top point guard target for a number of teams needing help at the position this offseason. The Bulls are certainly one of those teams too.
Other potential contenders at this point to land Lonzo in free agency this summer could include the New York Knicks, Celtics, Sixers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Houston Rockets, among others. There’s certainly going to be a very hot market for the former UCLA Bruin.
As far as the Bulls are concerned, signing Ball would take up maybe all of the rest of the cap room they have available this summer. If the Bulls do sign Ball this summer, then they might have to trade off some other contracts to be able to put together a solid rotation heading into next season.
Lonzo would give the Bulls a nice upgrade in multiple ways over both White and Sato. He would be a good fit with this starting unit, especially to bolster the production and overall effectiveness of both star center Nikola Vucevic and shooting guard Zach LaVine.
Depending on what the market for Lonzo winds up being this offseason, the Bulls could be one of the top potential landing spots for him out of free agency. It seems like Karnisovas and the Bulls were very interested in getting Ball in the mix with this starting unit since the weeks leading up to the trade deadline back on March 25.
