2021 NBA Mock Draft 3.0: One week before the 2021 Lottery
31
Roko Prkacin 2002, F, Cibona
13.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.5 blocks, 49% fg, 39% 3pt, 28 mpg
Pick via Houston Rockets
With the first pick in the second round, and their first pick in the draft, the Milwauke Bucks should look to add some floor spacing and depth at forward. Roko Prkacin can play either forward position at 6-foot-8.
He showed ability in his first year with Cibona to put the ball on the floor and shot the basketball at great clips from three and from the field. He isn’t going to be an impactful player on the defensive end, but his rebounding and floor spacing could be valuable in the playoffs.
32
Josh Primo Freshman, G, Alabama
8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.3 blocks, 43% fg, 38% 3pt, 23 mpg
Pick via Detroit Pistons
Continuing to add young backcourt depth to their roster, the Knicks select freshman sharpshooter Josh Primo out of Alabama. Outside of his range, Primo isn’t going to do much else for you. Although he has good size at 6-foot-6 and could play either wing spot in the NBA, he isn’t the best athlete and more than likely would be an average to minus professional defender.
Nonetheless, shooting holds its value in the NBA, and his length and off-ball skillset will surely get the eighteen-year-old selected in the 2021 Draft.
33
Terrence Shannon Jr. Sophomore, G, Texas Tech
12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.1 blocks, 45% fg, 36% 3pt, 27 mpg
With the addition of Green and now Terrence Shannon in the second round, the Orlando Magic have a ton of talent to work with in the backcourt. Shannon is an athletic wing who could potentially play the two or three in the NBA.
Shannon greatly improved his shot from outside from his freshman to sophomore year with the Red Raiders. However, outside of scoring, he has yet to show other aspects of his game. The Magic will hope that his athleticism can turn yield more than just scoring with some development. He hasn’t hired an agent yet and is contemplating whether or not he will try to go professional, but with an invite to the combine he should be on his way to the NBA.
34
Day'Ron Sharpe Freshman, C, UNC
9.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.9 blocks, 52% fg, 0% 3pt, 19 mpg
Pick via Cleveland Cavaliers
Steven Adams is certainly not the long-term solution in New Orleans, and for whatever reason, Jaxson Hayes gets incredibly limited minutes. Regardless of what the Pelicans’ plan for Hayes is, investing in another young big would make sense.
In limited minutes at UNC, the big-bodied center posted great rebounding and scoring numbers from inside. Sharpe is also a very capable defender and fits the style of bigs that New Orleans has brought in over the past few seasons.
