Free agency should be a consequential time for the Chicago Bulls this summer, given how much is on the line for this team heading into next season. The Bulls have a promising core that can finally get them over the postseason hump as soon as next year. That would end a four-year postseason drought for this franchise.

The Bulls also now have a true star duo to build the rest of their roster around in shooting guard Zach LaVine and center Nikola Vucevic. The rest of the roster could form nicely around them too with some of the pieces already in place. That group includes rookie forward Patrick Williams, second-year point guard Coby White, center Daniel Theis (if he re-signs in Chicago), etc.

Should AK and the Chicago Bulls take a risk with their cap space this summer?

Finding the right supporting cast for this star duo of LaVine and Vooch could be a deciding factor as to how the Bulls fair next season, and for years beyond that. It’s just hard to know how exactly executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley will exactly accomplish finding the right supporting cast for LaVine and Vooch.

The option exists for the Bulls to try and get some support pieces around their core and try to get over the hump that way into the postseason. Or the Bulls can spend big on one or two huge pieces to try and form a truly potent starting unit, and have to distribute the rest sparsely for the bench.

If the Bulls do want to go all out and land another star, which former All-Star selections could they look into in free agency this summer?
