In a time where the Chicago Bulls are looking to get their roster ready to reach contender status in the near future, it’s hard to figure out what the future will look like beyond the next two or three years.
The Bulls had assembled a young core that looked to have some potential under the former front office regime of John Paxson and Gar Forman since they shipped off their former star shooting guard/small forward Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2017 offseason. They assembled a young core that featured the likes of point guard Kris Dunn, shooting guard Zach LaVine, power forward Lauri Markkanen, center Wendell Carter Jr., etc.
Although, that young core that GarPax assembled for this rebuild never lived up to the hype. In fact, it was made up of mostly injury-prone players that likely won’t get many (if any at all) All-Star nods in their career. The lone bright spot from the young core that the GarPax regime assembled at this point is LaVine.
Chicago Bulls still have a bright future in a few key pieces
As a result, executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley made a lot of roster changes this year, and more could be on the way soon. Karnisovas and Eversley are trying to construct a more proficient core that utilizes some of the pieces that were in place beforehand, namely LaVine.
There are some pieces that the Bulls’ new front office has already added that could be big parts of this team moving forward. And this offseason is a good time to bring some of those promising young Bulls players to the forefront.
Here’s a look into the three Bulls players that have a bright future that this fan base should be excited about.
