The Chicago Bulls selected Marko Simonovic with the 44th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He remains stashed overseas but any fans that have been following his production have had reason to be excited all year.
Simonovic did it again, this time putting up an absolutely dominant line Friday in the second game of the Serbian Finals. His performance led the way for Mega Soccerbet to even the three-game series at one game apiece.
How dominant was he? Simonovic went for 19 points and 20 rebounds, both of which were team highs for Mega Soccerbet in the must-win game.
Showing up with that kind of stat line is naturally impressive, doing it in a must-win situation makes it even more exciting for Bulls fans. His 20 rebounds were just seven less than the entire opposing team had.
Simonovic connected on 7-14 shots, including 1-2 from behind the arc. It was a strong way to bounce back from his very disappointing opening game in the series. In game one he scored just eight points and grabbed four rebounds.
It was a blowout loss and it seems as if he took it personally to make sure his team showed up in game number two of the series. Obviously, it worked. The decisive game three will be played Sunday and Bulls fans should keep an eye out for how he does in that one.
He is an ultra-talented big man that can do a lot of things on the court and another eye-popping game like this one and it might be time to see when the Chicago Bulls can get him into their facility.
He was helped by teammate Filip Petrusev in the victory Friday. Petrusev chipped in 16 points of his own to help get the win. He is also someone that made the list of international draft prospects that Arturas Karnisovas should have an eye on ahead of the 2021 NBA Draft.
If the front office didn’t already notice him, they surely did now after seeing their own player dominate alongside him. In a generally quiet time of the year for an eliminated team, this is great news for the Bulls.
