One player at each position for the Chicago Bulls to target this summer: Malik Monk, SG

Since the Bulls already are established in the starting unit at the two-guard, they don’t really need to find a bona fide quality starter at this position. LaVine is the highlighting force in the Bulls starting unit under to-be second-year head coach Billy Donovan.

Therefore, it might be up to Karnisovas and Eversley this offseason to start rounding out the backcourt rotation behind LaVine and whoever the starting point guard of the future is. The Bulls do look to have one spot among the reserves in the backcourt rotation solidified in the form of second-year point guard Coby White.

But it’s hard to tell what Karnisovas and Eversley will do this offseason with impending unrestricted free agents such as veteran shooting guard Garrett Temple and shooting guard/wing Denzel Valentine.

This is where the Bulls could start finding more longevity among the reserves in the backcourt rotation. They have a good foundation with Coby in the mix, but someone like the Charlotte Hornets sharpshooting guard Malik Monk could help to round out the bench in the backcourt. Monk was among the best three-point shooters during the regular season.

He could give another floor spacing threat that can create his own looks and be a good tertiary ball handler to Donovan’s bench. Monk shot better than 40 percent from beyond the arc this season, and had an assist rate well north of 15 percent. If the price tag on his stays low this summer, then the Bulls should look into signing Monk out of free agency.

Honorable Mention: Wayne Ellington

Another proven shooter that the Bulls could slot in their backcourt rotation that could be a threat at the two-guard is the veteran Wayne Ellington. Considering the Bulls are likely to part ways with Valentine this summer, Ellington could be a nice replacement for the bench.
