There’s a more solid foundation that the Chicago Bulls front office has to build the roster around this summer than they had last offseason. Executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley had to have a good level of uncertainty last offseason when they didn’t have much at all to work off of in terms of roster evaluations.
Now, Karnisovas and Eversley had a full regular season to evaluate the personnel on hand, and they’ve already made a good number of moves to reshape the roster construction. Figuring out how to construct the rest of the roster around the likes of star shooting guard Zach LaVine, center Nikola Vucevic, rookie forward Patrick Williams, etc., will be critical heading into the summer months.
How deadline moves can continue to shape the Chicago Bulls roster this offseason?
Some of the sizable moves that the Bulls front office made at the trade deadline back on March 25 included trading for Vucevic and veteran forward Al-Farouq Aminu from the Orlando Magic and the likes of center Daniel Theis and shooting guard Javonte Green from the Boston Celtics. The Bulls also got shooting guard/small forward Troy Brown Jr. from the Washington Wizards.
In the process, the Bulls gave up key pieces such as two first round draft picks, third-year center Wendell Carter Jr., second-year center Daniel Gafford, etc. But hopefully all of those moves will be for the right reason with a legit star duo suiting up now for the Bulls in LaVine and Vooch.
What additional moves can the Bulls front office make this summer to put the right supporting cast around their new budding core? Here’s a look into one offseason target for the Bulls at each position this offseason.
