A big hope for a lot of Chicago Bulls fans this offseason will be the potential of the front office putting together some sort of big three alongside star shooting guard Zach LaVine and newly acquired center Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls could also potentially form a big three if the former Florida State Seminoles rookie forward Patrick Williams fulfills his promise anytime in the near future.
But it’s hard to say that P-Will is going to be able to fulfill his lofty potential in the near future since he is still growing his game in a number of different ways. If the Bulls wanted to maximize the star power they have on the roster now between the duo of LaVine and Vooch, they would likely have to do so with another proven player they can acquire this offseason.
Now that will be easier said than done.
The cost of landing a star for the Chicago Bulls
Just look at how much executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley had to invest in getting Vooch from the Orlando Magic back at the trade deadline. The Bulls had to ship off two first-round draft picks, third-year center Wendell Carter Jr., and veteran small forward Otto Porter Jr., to get Vooch and veteran forward Al-Farouq Aminu back from the Magic.
There is still a chance, though, that the Bulls front office is able to find another star that won’t cost them as much as Vooch did at the deadline this summer. Granted, the Bulls’ timing would have to be amazing for that to transpire.
I do want to note that on this list, the players chosen as those who could be “realistic” trade targets for the Bulls are those that their current teams would likely be the most willing to get a deal done this offseason.
Here’s a look into five of the more realistic star trade targets for Chicago this offseason.
