Chicago Bulls impending free agents most likely to return: Garrett Temple

Among the Bulls’ impending free agents that would be an easy one to get back in the mix heading into next season, you could find the veteran 35-year-old shooting guard Garrett Temple. The former Brooklyn Net and LSU Tiger was solid at times for the Bulls this season, but also serves a lot of value in this locker room.

It is good for Donovan and the Bulls to have more veteran voices in the locker room to provide some stability. That is exactly what they get out of having players like Temple and veteran forward Thaddeus Young on this roster.

But Karnisovas and the Bulls signed Temple down to just a one-year contract out of free agency last fall. Temple was really their lone addition to the roster out of free agency. Now that the front office had a full year to evaluate the talent on hand, this becomes a critical time for Temple.

If the Bulls want to bring back some depth at the two-guard that can also provide stability on the defensive end of the floor, Temple could be a good way to get that done. Temple isn’t really an offensive threat by any means, but he is a good one-on-one perimeter defender that can help younger guards like Coby White and Zach LaVine along on that end of the floor.

It feels like there is a better chance than not that Temple returns for the Bulls next season, likely on another one-year contract worth around $4-$5 million.
