In a time where the Chicago Bulls really need to find the right supporting cast for their star duo of shooting guard Zach LaVine and center Nikola Vucevic, this could be an eventful offseason for the front office. While there’s a lot to do for this front office during the summer months, the Bulls’ top priority looks to be finding help at the point guard position.

And finding that right fit for the Bulls’ point guard of the future means also knowing which piece is right alongside their budding core trio of LaVine, Vooch, and rookie forward Patrick Williams. IT doesn’t look like executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley are intent on keeping second-year point guard Coby White or combo guard Tomas Satoransky as their starter at the one heading into next season.

Moreover, the most commonly discussed options to find that next starting point guard that can be a potential face of the franchise for the Bulls usually starts with players like Lonzo Ball and Dennis Schroder. Or if the Bulls happen to luck out in the draft lottery and they’re able to get someone like Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham or Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs, that would be great too.

But considering the bidding price for Lonzo could skyrocket this summer, and the Bulls have just roughly 20 percent odds of getting into the top four of the lottery to get their first round pick back, Karnisovas and Eversley need to have some backup options. That could include investing in a veteran star either through free agency or the trade block.

While the option of getting a bona fide veteran point guard could be expensive and difficult to pull off for Karnisovas and the Bulls this summer, it should still be a route worth considering. Here’s a look at three unlikely veteran star point guards that the Bulls could pursue this offseason.
