Billy Donovan’s Chicago Bulls finished this season 31-41, placing 11th in the Eastern Conference standings. Some tough losses, the team dealt with struggle every now and then; however, guys stepped up when they needed to and they fought through adversity. The third and fourth months into the season were big hits of March mania and April anguish for the Bulls.

First, they brought in all-star center Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic, which was a hugely positive addition to the organization. Though Vucevic did his part and performed well over the course of several weeks, the team lost many games going 3-8 directly following his arrival in Chicago.

It was then a detriment to learn that all-star guard, 27 points per game team-leading scorer Zach LaVine, tested positive for COVID-19. He missed many games, and the team suffered from it.

Optimism remaining for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Draft Lottery

On the other hand, the Bulls have phenomenal upside and are stacked with high-caliber talent. Their team chemistry on the floor is really good, and they live to make that awesome assist. Their unselfishness is amazing, as they finished eighth in the league in assists this season. To finish in the top 10 in assists is truly an honor, and proves that they can cause some damage for defenses.

This demonstrates their basketball IQ, willingness to make the extra pass, athleticism, and ability to put on a show out in transition and in the open floor making that “wow” pass on the 2-on-1. They should find themselves moving up in this category in upcoming seasons.

The 2021 NBA Draft is approaching us and is right at our fingertips. This year the draft is on July 29, 2021, and will be a big-time night for the Bulls organization. It was recently announced that the Bulls won the tiebreaker and will own the No. 8 place in the 2021 Draft Lottery, which provides them a 4.5 percent chance of getting the No. 1 pick. The Draft Lottery is on June 22, 2021.

There are pieces that can be put into place in the roster. Depth at the guard position, particularly at the point should be the main topic of discussion.
