Chicago Bulls trades with the Cavs for Collin Sexton

This particular trade deal might seem a little far-fetched, but the Bulls’ new front office regime proved on deadline day back on March 25 that they are willing to go pretty far to get the right deal done. And with a lot of possibilities likely on the table for the Bulls this summer, dealing out some other veteran players like forward Thaddeus Young and combo guard Tomas Satoransky might not be out of the question.

Young and Sato filled various roles to differing degrees of effectiveness in the season that was for Donovan and the Bulls. It would likely be the most difficult to let go of Young, especially after he became one of the most productive and efficient Bulls players during the regular season. Especially if the Bulls are planning on parting ways with some of their impending free agent big men like Markkanen and center Daniel Theis, they could use Young back.

But that’s why Karnisovas and the Bulls try to get power forward Larry Nance Jr. from the Cavaliers. The Bulls would be able to get someone that would be more of a traditional fit at the four alongside star center Nikola Vucevic. Nance Jr. is a capable defender at the four, a good rebounder, and someone that can still space the floor at times.

He shot better than 47 percent from the field and 36 percent from beyond the arc during the regular season, which are some of the best numbers of his career to date.

The Bulls do still have to take on the contract of Osman in this trade deal, and they still ship White off to the Cavs. This deal largely just adds onto what the Bulls originally had to send the Cavs in the first place to get Sexton to Chicago. These add-ons do make sense for both sides, though, as the Cavs would be off of the money of Young and Sato by next offseason.
