Chicago Bulls offseason targets that fit with Patrick Williams: Richaun Holmes
If the Bulls do see most of their looming free agent big men walk this offseason then they will have a plethora of holes to fill in the summer months. Karnisovas and the Bulls are set to see the likes of big men Cristiano Felicio, Daniel Theis, and Lauri Markkanen, all coming off the books this summer.
And while there are a lot of Bulls fans that would like to see Theis, and mixes of them see Markkanen, return heading into next season, it’s not likely they will get both back.
With that in mind, the Bulls need to find some other impending free agent big men that can make an impact for this frontcourt rotation heading into next season. This is where Karnisovas and the Bulls could do well to get in on pursuing the insanely underrated Sacramento Kings big man Richaun Holmes in this cycle of free agency.
Holmes has a contract that he signed two years ago, that was worth eight figures in total. That was a steal for the Kings, and he still might receive less than he should in the open market this offseason. That is really something the Bulls could take full advantage of.
Holmes is a player that registered a career-best 20.2 player efficiency rating and an impressive 6.1 total win shares in the regular season that was.
The Bulls could use someone like Holmes that could get down and dirty in the paint and do a lot of the things that are bigger weaknesses for the trio that includes LaVine, Vooch, and Williams. Holmes could be a nice fit for the Bulls, and one that wouldn’t be that expensive for the front office.
