In an offseason where the Chicago Bulls are trying to find the right pieces to put in place around their newfound core, free agency is something that looms large. It is also something that executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley need to get right this offseason.

First-year head coach Billy Donovan led the Bulls to a record of 31-41 during the regular season that was, following a somewhat surprising win at home back on May 16 over the divisional foe Milwaukee Bucks at the United Center. This is the fourth straight year that the Bulls have missed the postseason.

But this offseason might actually present the brightest outlook for this Bulls team since the infamous trade back in 2017 that sent star shooting guard/small forward Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves. With Karnsiovas and Eversley picking up this roster more so than the former front office regime of John Paxson and Gar Forman ever did, there’s a valid reason for the increased optimism in Chicago.

Many of the reasons for optimism include the trio of key players that the Bulls can build around moving forward. That trio includes star shooting guard Zach LaVine, center Nikola Vucevic, and rookie forward Patrick Williams.

One particular focal point of the offseason for Karnisovas and the Bulls will be how they are able to build around a budding two-way stud like Williams. They need to put the right pieces around him in order to succeed over the long term.

Here’s a look at three potential offseason targets for the Bulls to consider that would fit well with the former Florida State Seminole Williams.
