Just going a few years back, the Chicago Bulls looked to have one of the up-and-coming young cores in the Eastern Conference. Budding young talents such as center Wendell Carter Jr., power forward Lauri Markkanen, and shooting guard Zach LaVine, among others, were at the forefront of the Bulls’ rebuild as recently as last year.

It was ownership/management hiring former Denver Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas to replace John Paxson as the lead voice in the front office that changed the face of this rebuild that was then heading into its fourth year. Paxson and former Bulls general manager Gar Forman were either demoted or let go entirely in favor of Karnisovas and new general manager Marc Eversley.

That brought some changes to the Bulls roster construction and a dismantling of what was previously considered to be the core of this team. Karnisovas and Eversley finally made some moves so that the Bulls could win now, instead of waiting out the long game and hoping some of these promising young players turned into stars.

Chicago Bulls changing the face of the direction of the franchise

Karnisovas and Eversley have shipped out a lot of the players that were formerly front and center of the Bulls franchise. A lot of those changes came around the trade deadline this year, nearly two months ago.

And with the Bulls changing the direction of this franchise with a few swift moves this year, where are some former key members of this rebuild now?

Here’s a look into where each member of the Bulls former core is at now, including those still on the current roster heading into the offseason.
