Middling Chicago Bulls players that could hit the trade block: Ryan Arcidiacono

It feels like I was hard on the former Villanova Wildcats point guard Ryan Arcidiacono for much of this season. The 6-foot-3 and 195 pound 27-year-old former undrafted free agent signing Arch has one of the smallest annual salaries of any player on this cap sheet. And there was a point in time (when Kris Dunn was first getting started with the Bulls) that Arch had a very valuable spot in the rotation.

Arch fits into a similar situation as Aminu. He could still bring some level of value to the table for the Bulls. But if Donovan and this coaching staff don’t feel like it is necessary to give Arch any key minutes in the backcourt rotation, then this roster spot would be best served to get used with another guard.

The production that Arch brought to the table for the Bulls did improve down the stretch. But most of those solid numbers he put up in the final games of the regular season for the Bulls game during garbage time when not much was on the line for their opposition. Nonetheless, he did average 3.1 points per game, 1.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and no blocks, in 44 appearances.

There is still one more year remaining on Arch’s current contract. The former front office pairing of John Paxson and Gar Forman had signed him to a three-year minimum contract two offseasons ago. And while the $3 million base salary for Arch isn’t going to cost Karnisovas and the Bulls all that much cap space, they might find this spot in the rotation valuable to use to sign or trade for someone else.
