Definitely one of the most hotly discussed free agent/trade targets for the Bulls this offseason is the New Orleans Pelicans fourth-year 6-foot-6 and 190-pound point guard Lonzo Ball. The former UCLA Bruin and 23-year-old two-way floor general is set to hit the restricted free agent market following the conclusion of this season.

And the Bulls definitely look to be interested in signing his offer sheet or pulling off a sign-and-trade deal with the Pelicans to get him to Chicago.

Considering that the Bulls are seeking out a true starting point guard of the future that can make a positive impact for them on both ends of the floor, Ball looks to be a great fit. And if he doesn’t cost them all that much, that’s even more of a benefit to the front office.

Yet, the Bulls will have their hands full with trying to pursue Ball in restricted free agency. It looks like teams like the Pelicans, New York Knicks, and Atlanta Hawks, among others. The Bulls are going to have to try and go all out with getting him to the Windy City, but he would be a nice fit to help find the likes of LaVine and Vooch.

Lonzo would give the Bulls a true playmaker, an improving shooter from all over the floor, and one of the better and more athletic one-on-one perimeter defenders in the NBA. He would give this starting unit a much different dynamic than they had in the past two seasons between the likes of Sato and White.
