I am personally a big fan of the idea of Karnisovas and the Bulls trying to get standout 6-foot-5 and 215 pound 28-year-old point guard Spencer Dinwiddie from the Brooklyn Nets in a trade this offseason. What would be required from the Nets and the Bulls to pull off a Dinwiddie trade this offseason is him opting into the final year of his current contract.

Dinwiddie has one year remaining on his current deal, which will pay him just north of $12 million next season if he does opt-in this offseason. And it could be a really good situation for the Bulls if they were to pull off a trade deal with the Nets to land Dinwiddie with just one year remaining on his contract this offseason.

As he’s currently working back from an ACL tear he suffered just prior to the turn of the calendar year, Dinwiddie should be ready to go for the start of the 2021-22 regular season. If he’s ready to go for the preseason/Training Camp in the fall, that would be even better for any team that wants to pursue him like the Bulls.

With the Nets having a mix of guards that includes superstars Kyrie Irving and James Harden, there doesn’t look to be much room left in the rotation for the former Colorado Buffalo Dinwiddie. If there’s an opportunity to buy low on Dinwiddie this offseason, then the point guard woes in Chicago could be solved without the front office having to give up too much to land him.
