With the final game of the regular season now winding down for first-year head coach Billy Donovan and the Chicago Bulls on the night of May 16, the focus is about to officially shift to the offseason. There looks to be a lot of change just around the corner for the Bulls, as this will be the second offseason under the front office leadership of executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley.
Last offseason, Karnisovas and Eversley stayed mostly silent. The big move they were able to make came thanks to a nice stroke of luck in the draft lottery, where they jumped up three spots in the odds to get the fourth overall pick. With the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft, Karnisovas and the Bulls were able to select the former Florida State Seminoles forward Patrick Williams.
An up-and-down rookie campaign in terms of the overall production for Williams did shed a spotlight on how much two-way potential he brings to the table for the Bulls. It does look like the Bulls are going to try and build their core around the trio of Williams, star shooting guard Zach LaVine, and center Nikola Vucevic.

What is potentially the focal point of that trio of Williams, LaVine, and Vooch for the Bulls entering the offseason is the first-time All-Star and former UCLA Bruin. LaVine will enter the final year of his current contract next season, and the front office needs to make it known the type of support they’re willing to give him.
Most of that will involve the front office continuing to build the roster proficiently around LaVine. That doesn’t necessarily mean the Bulls have to go out and find the most expensive players, but ones that complement the game of LaVine nicely.
With that in mind, here’s a look into three current Bulls players that should go that aren’t playing well alongside LaVine of late.
