Coby White becomes the centerpiece in a multi-player trade

I do want to say before getting into any of the details of a potential trade with the Wizards for Beal that it will be difficult for the Bulls to not part ways with even more future draft capital to get this done. Since the Bulls already shipped off their 2021 and 2023 first round draft picks to the Orlando Magic in the trade deadline day deal that landed them Vooch, there’s not much future draft capital left for Karnisovas to work with.

The Wizards were a frequent trade partner with the Wizards in the past few years. To land the likes of combo guard Tomas Satoransky, the Bulls got him in a sign-and-trade deal with the Wizards back during the 2019 offseason. Sato had an up and down run with the Bulls since landing in the Windy City ahead of the start of the 2019-20 season.

Sato was brought in for the Bulls during the same offseason that they also signed former Indiana Pacers veteran forward Thaddeus Young and current Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet. And in this particular trade deal, he winds up landing back with the Wizards. Young goes along with him.

But among players getting shipped off from the Bulls in this trade deal, the headliner is the second-year former North Carolina Tar Heels point guard Coby White. While it does look like the Bulls want to keep White around and try to make him work as a scoring guard in a sixth or seventh man role, they might have to include him in this deal to actually get it done.

They are void of a lot of player capital that is valuable to send off otherwise.

To at least even up the salary and player swap in terms of quantity a bit better, the Wizards also send off guard Isaac Bonga in a sign-and-trade with the Bulls to make it work.
