Oh how sweet it would be if the Bulls were able to get a trio together that featured LaVine and Vooch along with the current Philadelphia 76ers star 6-foot-11 and 240 pound 24-year-old point guard Ben Simmons. The former LSU Tiger is already a very decorated point guard and would fill a plethora of needs immediately in the Windy City.

However unlikely it is that a team like the Bulls is able to get the Sixers to the table to discuss a trade involving Simmons in the near future, it is definitely something worth keeping tabs on. Various discussions surfaced out of Philly over the course of the last two years concerning poor fits between Simmons and star center Joel Embiid.

The problem with configuring even a hypothetical trade with the Sixers where the Bulls could get Simmons to Chicago is that head coach Doc Rivers might’ve figured out the on-court connection between Simmons and Embiid. It appears it was a poor set of personnel placed around those two last season by the Sixers front office that caused the situation of Simmons and Embiid putting up less than stellar numbers while on the floor together.

Considering that the Bulls’ most glaring positional need heading into the offseason lies at the point guard spot, landing a star like Simmons that still has room to grow is something that sounds great. The viability of it is a bigger question mark by a large margin. Still, if the possibility of pulling something like this off were to play out this offseason, the Bulls should be a solid landing spot for Simmons.

It would be a near-perfect trio that the Bulls would boast if they had Simmons, LaVine, and Vooch all in the same starting unit.
