Victor Oladipo, CG
One of the most intriguing free agent targets that the Bulls could have this offseason is the former Indiana Pacers and Magic star combo guard Victor Oladipo. The still recovering 29-year-old Oladipo has played for three different NBA teams already this season. He started out with the Pacers, then was traded to the Houston Rockets, and then dealt to the Miami Heat at the deadline.
Finding more stability at his next landing spot will clearly be a priority for Dipo when he hits the free agent market this offseason. There is a chance that he could re-sign a longer contract with the Heat this offseason. But if Pat Riley and head coach Erik Spoelstra don’t bring back Dipo heading into the summer, the Bulls should at least look into what he brings to the table.
He could help fill numerous voids for the Bulls, including one in the backcourt rotation and with their perimeter defending. Dipo might not be a true starting point guard for the Bulls, but he could form an intriguing three-guard lineup if the Bulls moved LaVine to play at the three in their starting unit.
Forming a starting trio in their backcourt that includes the likes of Dipo, LaVine, and then someone like Lonzo or Kyle Lowry could be incredibly potent for the Bulls. But that also might be somewhat of a pipedream for the front office this offseason.
Dipo has averaged 19.8 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.4 blocks. And he shot 40.8 percent from the field, 32.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.4 percent from the free-throw line.
