Chicago Bulls: Players Passed on for Denzel Valentine — Dejounte Murray

Dejounte Murray was the 29th selection in the 2016 NBA Draft and is one of the big steals of the class. At 24 years old the San Antonio Spurs point guard has already made an All-Defensive team and many more could very well be coming.

Murray started 34 games at Washington before entering the NBA where he dropped all the way to the Spurs in the draft. It’s not just the Bulls who regret passing on the defensive stud. A number of teams that picked before San Antonio are regretting their moves in the 2016 NBA Draft to this day.

At Washington, Murray scored 16.1 points per game to go along with 6 rebounds and 4.8 assists. He also contributed 1.8 steals per contest, displaying the defense that has made him a well-known menace in the league already.

Despite missing an entire season due to injury already, the Washington product has proven to be a high-impact player in the league already. People have seemingly been waiting for him to break out for years but at the same time missing some of the reasons he should already be appreciated.

Murray is an elite rebounding guard in the NBA and has upped his scoring numbers to over 15 points (15.9) per game this season. Few guards are able to impact the game the way he does on the glass which is another way he is an asset to his team.

Defensively is without a doubt his number one area of impact, though. That is why he might be the player the Bulls are wishing they had on their roster right now. Point guard is one of if not the biggest need for the team in the upcoming offseason.
