Stars the Chicago Bulls could pair with Zach and Vooch: Kawhi Leonard

A superstar that could hit the free agent market this offseason that should be a big-time target of most teams around the NBA landscape is the Los Angeles Clippers 29-year-old 6-foot-7 and 225 pound forward Kawhi Leonard. There would also not really be a bigger possible addition for the Bulls to make this offseason than the Clippers superstar forward and former San Diego State Aztec.

While the dynamic duo of fellow star forward Paul George and Kawhi might not get broken up with the Clippers next offseason after all, the latter of those two could at least test free agency. Kawhi has a looming player option that he can pick up this coming offseason. If he does pick up his player option, then he would be due just north of $36 million for the 2021-22 campaign.

Leonard would be a seamless fit with about every NBA team if he signed with them in the near future, but Karnisovas and the Bulls should go all out to win over his interests this summer. Just as it was the case two offseasons ago, Leonard will be one of the most highly sought-after free agent/trade targets of the summer.

If the Bulls were to pull off something miraculous this coming offseason and sign Leonard off the free agent market, the starting five would put them amid the top title contenders in the NBA. They might still need to address the need at the point guard position. Outside of that, though, the Bulls could run LaVine, forward Patrick Williams, Kawhi, and then Vooch at the five.
