While it seems like the Bulls should have a role set in stone for a veteran forward/wing capable of making an impact on both ends of the floor like 30-year-old 6-foot-8 and 220 pound former Wake Forest Demon Deacon Al-Farouq-Aminu, he really hasn’t seen the floor in Chicago. Aminu has only played in two games for the Bulls since landing in the Windy City back on March 25.

Aminu got his first game action for the Bulls in the nine-point loss to the Magic back on April 14 since his initial action with the team post-deadline. But it was only just over four minutes played in the latter stages of the game that Aminu got against his former team.

There is a role that Aminu could still serve at this point in his career. It just doesn’t seem like that role is going to come with Donovan and the Bulls in the near future.

And while it’s not the play of Vooch that has caused Aminu’s production and/or playing time to suffer post-deadline, it is still a product of that trade deal. If the Bulls don’t make that deal for Vooch, there could still at least be a role on the Magic for Aminu.

Aminu’s current contract does carry him through the end of the 2021-22 season. So that will leave the Bulls front office regime with a decision to make as to what to do with his contract that is worth more than $10 million annually heading into the offseason.
