There’s been little to no consistency for Donovan and the Bulls this season at the point guard position. Switching beyond second-year point guard Coby White and combo guard Tomas Satoransky, the Bulls have constantly had flip-flops in the starting five at the one. At the moment, White has the edge over Sato.

But for the first time this season, White was moved to the bench by Donovan in favor of Sato getting the start at the point guard position. It’s hard to tell which direction Donovan will lean moving forward at the one.

If there is a way that the Bulls could find more stability at the point guard position by also bolstering the backcourt rotation as a whole, that could be a win-win for this entire team. Taking a risk by signing someone like the former Warriors 6-foot-1 and 190 pound 23-year-old point guard Ky Bowman could be a good move for all parties involved.

Bowman played for head coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors throughout most of last season. In 45 games played with the Warriors last season, Bowman actually wasn’t bad for them. He averaged 7.4 points per game, 2.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.2 blocks. And Bowman shot 41.7 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line.

It really looked like Bowman was making some headway to earn a permanent spot off the bench in the Warriors rotation down the stretch last season. He was playing well for them, despite missing superstars like point guard Stephen Curry and shooting guard/wing Klay Thompson.
