LiAngelo Ball, SG
Maybe the biggest reach of a potential signing that the Bulls could get on a 10-day contract is a member of the Ball family. And as the lone member of the Ball family that is not currently signed to an NBA contract, the 22-year-old Chino Hills, CA, native and 6-foot-5 and 215 pound shooting guard LiAngelo Ball could be a viable option for the Bulls.
It was last offseason that the divisional foe Pistons signed Ball to an Exhibit-10 contract. But that didn’t last but roughly two weeks as the Pistons let Ball go just ahead of the tip off of the regular season.
Ball got some international professional experience with Vytautas Prienu in the Lithuanian LKL back during the 2017-18 season. But outside of getting a shot in the G-League next season, Ball doesn’t have much promise to make it back into the NBA soon unless a team gets him a 10-day contract or another Exhibit-10 deal in the near future.
The Bulls have gotten thin at the shooting guard position at times this season, especially with star shooting guard Zach LaVine currently missing some time due to a violation of the league’s health and safety protocol. Veteran shooting guard Garrett Temple also missed some time this season since the All-Star Break.
If the Bulls continue to find themselves thin at times at the shooting guard position, then signing someone like Ball could be more of a high-risk, high-reward option than Thomas.
