Chicago Bulls: 3 players facing a make-or-break stretch run this season
An ever so much-needed winning streak was delivered by first-year head coach Billy Donovan and the middling Chicago Bulls early this week. Donovan and the Bulls were able to snap their five-game losing skid last weekend when they downed the divisional foe Cleveland Cavaliers at home on April 17 by a double-digit margin.
Then, the Bulls were able to extend their winning streak to two games with a huge upset road win over the star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics on the road at the TD Garden on April 19. The Bulls got the April 19 road win over head coach Brad Stevens and the Celtics by the final score of 102-96.
After building up this two-game winning streak thanks to triumphs over the Cavs and Celtics, the Bulls now sport a record of 24-33. But the challenging stretch of the schedule to round out this month is far from over. After hitting the road to face the Cavs again on April 21, the Bulls round out their April schedule with all playoff opponents.
Chicago Bulls hitting the make-or-break stretch of the season
Once they face the Cavs on April 21, the Bulls will only have playoff opposition remaining on the schedule for the rest of this month. They get the Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, and New York Knicks, once each, and then the Miami Heat twice on the road.
That won’t be easy for the Bulls to continue their trek up the standings if they sink back to their ways post-deadline before they got on this two-game winning streak. A few key players are going to need to step up in the spotlight down the stretch at a make-or-break point for them with the Bulls.
