Chicago Bulls: 4 former players they could pursue in 2021 free agency
Chicago Bulls former player they could pursue this offseason: David Nwaba
David Nwaba had arguably the best season of his NBA career in 2017-18 for the Chicago Bulls. That year, the forward averaged 7.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Eye-popping? No. That is not the type of player Nwaba is, though.
He brings so much more to the team than his numbers suggest and those things are just what the Bulls need. He is a physical player that brings that same type of ‘dog’ to the court that was mentioned regarding Taj.
Further, he is as versatile as they come on the defensive end. He can guard nearly every position on the court and offers whatever team he is playing for a ton of defensive flexibility. In Chicago, he shot a career-high three-point percentage of 34.6 percent.
That number is unlikely to ever be repeated by him but does show he can keep defenses honest when he is on from the perimeter. Most importantly to his game is the defense and what he does helping on the glass.
Nwaba rebounds much better than most players his size. That is because of the physical presnese he brings on every single possession. That physicality will be targeted by the Bulls in the offseason and at the right price, it is easy to see how Nwaba could find himself returning to the Bulls for a second stint.
If the Bulls want to play more physically and have that type of presence, Nwaba is one of the most underrated names they can bring in during free agency. His style of play is contagious and he is just what would help bring out the best from the Bulls star players.
