As one of the six most expensive contracts on the current Bulls cap sheet, Brazilian 6-foot-10 and 270 pound towering 28-year-old big man Cristiano Felicio shouldn’t be around beyond next offseason. The former front office leadership of John Paxson and Gar Forman handed Felicio way too large of a contract extension almost four years ago, that was worth more than $30 million over the course of four years.

Felicio has only played in 10 games so far this season, averaging just under five minutes on the floor in those outings. And he’s averaged 1.2 points per game, 1.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.2 steals, and no blocks. Felicio shot an actually very impressive 75.0 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Although, every single one of Felicio’s field goal attempts in his 10 games played this season have come from within three feet of the rim. That’s not too difficult to convert on three-quarters of your looks from that close to the basket.

This is the final year of Felicio’s bloated contract, which means that the Bulls wouldn’t have to consider a stretch and waive move for Felicio at any point in the future.

There’s just no way that the Bulls should consider re-signing Felicio again. He doesn’t offer much of any utility to the Bulls frontcourt rotation, and his nearly $8 million annual salary is money that could be better utilized signing other big men.
