Another fellow former Texas Longhorn and veteran point guard Cory Joseph is one name to watch that could still hit the buyout market before it’s all said and done. Granted if the Detroit Pistons were to buy out Joseph, it likely would’ve already happened. Joseph is a veteran floor general that has played for a lot of different teams in his career to date.

The one-time NBA Champion has also played for both the Pistons and Sacramento Kings this season. Neither of those teams is likely to make the playoffs this year. Joseph has played in more than 50 games this season between his time with the Kings and Pistons. And he’s averaged 7.2 points per game, 2.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.2 blocks.

Joseph shot 45.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 82.6 percent from the free-throw line. He’s a mostly solid presence on both ends of the floor off the bench for whatever team he’s played for this season.

What Joseph could bring to the table in particular for the Bulls is a solid two-way guard that has a level of quickness and effectiveness driving the lane that no one else really has among veterans on this roster. Second-year point guard Coby White does have a quick first step when driving the lane, but he doesn’t have the same wherewithal yet in his game as Joseph. Combo guard Tomas Satoransky also isn’t nearly the same player as Joseph, which could add some utility to this Bulls bench.
