One player that started to become an afterthought of late for the core part of the Bulls rotation that is still going to be crucial for Donovan down the stretch is the second-year point guard Coby White. The 6-foot-5 and 195 pound former North Carolina Tar Heel White hasn’t played at his best so far this season.

And for the first time in his career, White is dealing with an injury issue of late. White has missed three of the last four games for the Bulls in dealing with an upper-body injury. We don’t know yet if he will return for the Bulls as they get set to take on the Pacers on April 6.

If White can get close to the level he was at in terms of scoring and efficiency down the stretch last season, this Bulls backcourt rotation could take off. White was one of the hottest rookie guards in the second half of the 2019-20 regular season. His game has largely taken a step back during his sophomore campaign in the NBA.

White has averaged around 15 points per game, five rebounds, and five assists. And he’s shot 41 percent from the field, 35 percent from beyond the arc, and 90 percent from the free-throw line. There were some glimpses that White showed in bits and pieces since the All-Star Break that he found some traction in his new role off the bench.

Maybe that is a spot where White can develop his game at a steadier rate behind a consistent starting combo guard in Tomas Satoransky for the rest of this season.
